El reconocimiento fue presentado en la  Sexta Cauci\u00f3n Anual de Calidad de la Educaci\u00f3n Terciaria en la Semana Anual de Premiaci\u00f3n (<em >6th Annual Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education Week Awards Ceremony) <\/em >el 9 de febrero, en el <em >Mona Visitor&#39;s Lodge<\/em > en St. Andrew, Jamaica<em >.<\/em > <\/p>\n<p>El doctor Thompson fue reconocido por su vigorosa dedicaci\u00f3n y determinaci\u00f3n al expandir la educaci\u00f3n terciaria y fue seleccionado de un cuadro de educadores, quienes en su totalidad, confes\u00f3 \u00e9l, pudieron haber sido reconocidos de igual forma. <\/p>\n<p>El doctor Ethley London, director ejecutivo de UCJ, amontonando elogios sobre el ganador le dijo a la audiencia que \u00bb el honor al doctor Thompson es apropiado en este momento, como lo demuestra el verdadero sentido de compromiso, liderazgo y determinaci\u00f3n para ampliar el acceso a la educaci\u00f3n terciaria de Jamaica y el Caribe\u00bb. <\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00bbMe siento honrado y agradecido de que el Consejo de la Universidad de Jamaica (UCJ) vio oportuno el haber reconocido el valor de mi trabajo en esta \u00e1rea de la educaci\u00f3n\u00bb, dijo el Dr. Thompson. \u00abEste reconocimiento, sin embargo, est\u00e1 dedicado a la vida y obra de la figura de un padre y mentor m\u00edo que falleci\u00f3 recientemente; Sr. Lyndon Daley, quien durante la mayor parte de mi m\u00e1s a\u00f1os de formaci\u00f3n me acical\u00f3 para convertirme en lo que soy hoy\u00bb. <\/p>\n<p>Treinta y una acreditaciones que van desde programas de capacitaci\u00f3n administrativa a grados de maestr\u00eda fueron otorgados a diecisiete universidades, colegios e instituciones de nivel universitario.
