Brown, anterior presidente de la iglesia en Interam\u00e9rica, le fue otorgado un <em >doctorado Honoris Causa en divinidad<\/em > la semana pasada de la Universidad Caribe del Sur (UCS) en Puerto Espa\u00f1a, Trinidad. El doctorado honor\u00edfico fue otorgado cuando la instituci\u00f3n adventista del s\u00e9ptimo d\u00eda tuvo sus ejercicios de graduaci\u00f3n 79. <\/p>\n<p>El pastor Brown, quien ha recibido dos doctorados honor\u00edficos &#8211; el primero de la Universidad Andrews en los a\u00f1os 1980 &#8211; fue elogiado por su resuelta dedicaci\u00f3n al servicio, su liderazgo ejemplar y visionario y por su pasi\u00f3n por la misi\u00f3n de la Iglesia Adventista del S\u00e9ptimo D\u00eda, dijeron l\u00edderes de la universidad. <\/p>\n<p>Egresado de la UCS, el pastor Brown tambi\u00e9n tuvo el discurso de graduaci\u00f3n a los m\u00e1s de 700 graduados &#8211; la clase de graduandos m\u00e1s numerosa en la historia de la instituci\u00f3n. <\/p>\n<p>\u00abEl \u00e9xito es un viaje a trav\u00e9s de la vida, con paradas, pausas y nuevos comienzos\u00bb, dijo el pastor Brown. \u00abA esta ceremonia de graduaci\u00f3n se la llama <em >Commencement (<\/em >Inicio) porque ustedes inician una nueva etapa en la vida\u00bb. <\/p>\n<p>No trancen por nada menos que lo mejor. El \u00e9xito no depende de f\u00f3rmulas geniales o m\u00e1gicas, pero son el producto de trabajo laborioso, perseverancia y tenacidad\u00bb, sigui\u00f3 diciendo Brown. <\/p>\n<p>El pastor Brown anim\u00f3 a los graduandos a llevar a Dios con ellos, a ser transformacionales. \u00abCon\u00f3sc\u00e1nce a ustedes mismos, sepan por qu\u00e9 est\u00e1n aqu\u00ed, sepan a d\u00f3nde van, lleven a Dios a donde quiera que vayan\u00bb, dijo \u00e9l. <\/p>\n<p>Nativo de la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, el pastor Brown fue un antiguo decano estudiantil y presidente del Colegio de la Uni\u00f3n del Caribe, un educador, director juvenil y administrador con m\u00e1s de 40 a\u00f1os de servicio denominacional. Fue elegido presidente de la Divisi\u00f3n Interamericana en 1980 y sirvi\u00f3 en esa capacidad por 13 a\u00f1os durante los cuales la Divisi\u00f3n pas\u00f3 por la experiencia de r\u00e1pido crecimiento en la feligres\u00eda e iniciativas. <\/p>\n<p>El pastor Brown tiene Maestr\u00eda en Teolog\u00eda Sistem\u00e1tica de la Universidad Andrews y una Licenciatura (BA) de la Universidad del Caribe del Norte. <\/p>\n<p>El pastor Brown sigue cumpliendo con asignaciones de predicaci\u00f3n y escribiendo desde el hogar que comparte con Carla en Florida, Estados Unidos. <\/p>\n<p>Traducci\u00f3n: Aleida T.
