En este contexto, enfatiz\u00f3 Wilson, la muerte de Cristo en la cruz es tan solo el comienzo. Citando del libro \u201cFe y obras\u201d, de Elena G. White, ley\u00f3: \u201cSi aceptamos a Cristo como Redentor, debemos aceptarlo como Soberano. No podemos tener la seguridad y perfecta confianza en Cristo como nuestro Salvador hasta que lo reconozcamos como nuestro Rey y seamos obedientes a sus mandamientos\u201d (p. 13).<\/p>\n

El poder de salvaci\u00f3n de Dios nos transforma, enfatiz\u00f3 Wilson. \u201cCuando aceptamos este maravilloso poder\u201d, dijo, \u201csomos entonces facultados para hacer buenas obras\u201d.<\/p>\n

Poder para transformar<\/strong><\/p>\n

No obstante, el mensaje de salvaci\u00f3n restauradora de Dios no es tan solo una propuesta te\u00f3rica, sugiri\u00f3 Wilson. Tiene el poder de cambiarnos. Un mensaje que proclamar<\/strong><\/p>\n

En la \u00faltima parte de su mensaje, Wilson dijo que el poder de justificaci\u00f3n y santificaci\u00f3n de Dios en nuestras vidas deber\u00eda impulsarnos a compartir el mensaje de restauraci\u00f3n con otras personas.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u00a1Prediquen este mensaje precioso!\u201d, dijo. \u201cNo somos salvados por obras. Somos salvados por su poder justificador, y su poder santificador nos ayuda a alcanzar buenas obras\u201d.<\/p>\n

S<\/span>eventh-day Adventists have been called to proclaim a message of God\u2019s restoring salvation with everyone, Adventist Church president Ted Wilson said during his Sabbath message at the 2019 Annual Council in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States. Wilson\u2019s annual address to the members and invitees of the General Conference Executive Committee on October 12 highlighted God\u2019s power to restore and transform each one of us, and even the worst of sinners.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeventh-day Adventists have been asked to proclaim this amazing message, this restoring plan of salvation,\u201d Wilson said.<\/p>\n

A Message of Justification and Sanctification<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even though we were sinners, Jesus made us just\u2014justified us\u2014when He died on the cross for us, Wilson reminded his audience. But Christ’s righteousness does not stop with His justification, he added. It continues as we accept the power of the Holy Spirit to sanctify us, working in our lives to will and to do according to His good pleasure, not your own.<\/p>\n

This sanctification process, Wilson explained, is based on Jesus\u2019 life on this earth. The Bible says that after Jesus died, he rose again and went to intercede for us in the heavenly sanctuary. \u201cJesus entered that Holy Place, and He began to minister for us because He lives,\u201d Wilson reminded. It is what should prompt us to \u201ccome boldly to the throne of grace,\u201d he said, quoting Hebrews 4:16<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Against this backdrop, Wilson emphasized, Jesus\u2019 death on the cross is just the beginning. Quoting from Ellen G. White\u2019s book Faith and Works, he read, \u201cIf we accept Christ as a Redeemer, we must accept Him as a Ruler. We cannot have the assurance and perfect confiding trust in Christ as our Savior until we acknowledge Him as our King and are obedient to His commandments\u201d (p. 16).<\/p>\n

God\u2019s power of salvation transform us, Wilson emphasized. \u201cWhen you accept this marvelous power,\u201d he said, \u201cyou are then empowered to do good works.\u201d<\/p>\n

Transformative Power<\/strong><\/p>\n

But the message of God\u2019s restoring salvation is not just a theoretical proposition, Wilson suggested. It has the power to change us. As a real-life illustration of this power, he shared the story of Don Johnson, a convicted murderer who was recently executed by the State of Tennessee in the United States<\/a>. Don became a Seventh-day Adventist and eventually a church elder in prison.<\/p>\n

Wilson invited Adventist lay members John and Pam Dysinger, their daughter Kirsten, along with Pastor Furman Fordham to the podium. The Dysingers and Fordham witnessed to Johnson in prison, allowing him to become an active witness to others for years.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s was an incredible encouragement to see his passion for people,\u201d said Pam Dysinger.<\/p>\n

Kirsten seconded.<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably the noblest quality we witnessed when visiting him was his perpetual positivity, his joyful contentment no matter the situation,\u201d she said. \u201cHe would tell us, \u2018I am too blessed to be stressed.\u2019 It has been a wonderful testimony in my life,\u201d Kirsten added.<\/p>\n

Fordham, who is involved with Prison Ministries at the church he pastors, said that when they would visit him, \u201cinstead of us giving Bible studies to inmates, we would go to meet people to whom Don had already been given Bible studies.\u201d And Fordham added, \u201cThe individual who murdered his wife died years ago, and we saw a new creature, God\u2019s sanctifying power in action.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilson agreed.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon represents those whose lives are changed by the power of the Gospel message with Christ\u2019s justification\u2026 and His sanctifying power working in their lives,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

A Message to Proclaim<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the last part of his message, Wilson said that God\u2019s justifying and sanctifying power in our lives should drive us to share that restoration message with others.<\/p>\n

\u201cPreach this precious message!\u201d he said. \u201cYou\u2019re not saved by works. You\u2019re saved by His justifying power, and His sanctifying power helps you to accomplish good works.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilson then invited every church leader to make room in his or her busy schedule to take part in an evangelistic initiative within the next few months.<\/p>\n

\u201cAllow God to work through you as a leader to model the mission proclamation of God\u2019s restoring salvation to the world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
