Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 expuls\u00e9s d\u2019un b\u00e2timent d\u2019\u00e9glise qu\u2019ils louaient et avoir eu du mal \u00e0 fonctionner de mani\u00e8re efficace dans un lieu de culte temporaire, les membres de l\u2019\u00e9glise adventiste du septi\u00e8me jour ha\u00eftienne Maranatha, \u00e0 Indianapolis, dans l\u2019\u00c9tat am\u00e9ricain de l\u2019Indiana, avaient besoin de leur propre lieu de culte.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cependant, comme bien des \u00e9glises ayant un nombre important de membres qui sont des immigrants, Maranatha faisait face \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9norme d\u00e9fi de recueillir les fonds n\u00e9cessaires pour acheter un b\u00e2timent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Michelet William et son \u00e9glise ont obtenu la r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 leurs pri\u00e8res lorsqu\u2019ils ont tenu leur premier service d\u2019adoration dans leur nouvelles installations d\u2019adoration le samedi (sabbat) 6\u00a0janvier \u2014 un service de sainte-c\u00e8ne caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par les louanges. Mais comme de nombreuses \u00e9glises, Maranatha a lou\u00e9 des espaces de culte pendant plusieurs ann\u00e9es. Avec la croissance de l\u2019\u00e9glise, les \u00ab\u00a0gens \u00e9taient d\u00e9courag\u00e9s, parce que l\u2019espace devenait parfois trop petit pour accueillir tout le monde qui se pr\u00e9sentait; et quand ce n\u2019\u00e9tait pas le cas, le montant de location demand\u00e9 \u00e9tait trop \u00e9lev\u00e9 pour nous, a-t-il expliqu\u00e9. Il s\u2019agit actuellement d\u2019un tr\u00e8s gros probl\u00e8me qui nous emp\u00eache d\u2019accomplir la mission que Dieu nous a confi\u00e9e.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Selon Andr\u00e9 Trofort, coordonnateur des minist\u00e8res franco-ha\u00eftiens de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration de l\u2019Indiana et ancien pasteur de l\u2019\u00e9glise Maranatha, la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration de l\u2019Indiana et l\u2019Union des f\u00e9d\u00e9rations des Grands Lacs se sont enfin impliqu\u00e9s dans la recherche avec l\u2019\u00e9glise Maranatha pour trouver un lieu de culte permanent, car \u00ab\u00a0ils ont vu nos difficult\u00e9s. Nous grandissons beaucoup et n\u2019avons, \u00e0 l\u2019instar des enfants d\u2019Isra\u00ebl, nulle part o\u00f9 aller.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Au d\u00e9part, l\u2019\u00e9glise, qui avait fait une offre sur une propri\u00e9t\u00e9, ne l\u2019a pas obtenue, car un autre acheteur avait fait une meilleure offre. Cette propri\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tait alors une biblioth\u00e8que valant environ un million de dollars am\u00e9ricains et ce nouveau propri\u00e9taire voulait en faire une maison fun\u00e9raire. Cependant, apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9c\u00e8s malheureux du nouveau propri\u00e9taire, le b\u00e2timent a \u00e9t\u00e9 remis sur le march\u00e9, et l\u2019offre de Maranatha de 560\u00a0000\u00a0dollars am\u00e9ricains a finalement \u00e9t\u00e9 accept\u00e9e. Cette offre d\u00e9passait \u00e0 peine la moiti\u00e9 de la valeur estim\u00e9e de la propri\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dieu a donc effectivement fait de nombreux miracles pour l\u2019\u00e9glise Maranatha, qui a vu sa demande de pr\u00eat au Fonds renouvelable de l\u2019Union des f\u00e9d\u00e9rations des Grands Lacs \u00eatre accept\u00e9e, m\u00eame si l\u2019\u00e9glise ne r\u00e9pondait pas \u00e0 tous les crit\u00e8res pour obtenir un pr\u00eat. La politique \u00e9tablie par le Fonds renouvelable de l\u2019Union des f\u00e9d\u00e9rations des Grands Lacs \u2014 qui accorde des pr\u00eats de financement pour l\u2019acquisition ou la r\u00e9novation d\u2019\u00e9glises et d\u2019\u00e9coles sur son territoire \u2014 exige que les entit\u00e9s qui cherchent \u00e0 obtenir un pr\u00eat provenant du Fonds renouvelable aient 50\u00a0% du co\u00fbt total de l\u2019achat ou de la construction. Toutefois, comme l\u2019a expliqu\u00e9 le pasteur William, de nombreux membres de l\u2019\u00e9glise Maranatha sont des immigrants qui n\u2019ont pas encore de permis de travail. L\u2019argent recueilli par le moyen des d\u00eemes et des offrandes est donc limit\u00e9. \u00ab\u00a0L\u2019exigence d\u2019avoir la moiti\u00e9 du prix d\u2019achat du b\u00e2timent semblait donc pratiquement impossible \u00e0 remplir.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Jermaine Jackson, qui occupe les postes de tr\u00e9sorier adjoint pour l\u2019Union des Grands Lacs et de directeur de son Fonds renouvelable, dit avoir vu la main de Dieu se mouvoir pour l\u2019\u00e9glise Maranatha tout au long du processus d\u2019achat de son nouveau b\u00e2timent d\u2019\u00e9glise. Comme elle ne r\u00e9pondait pas aux normes et aux exigences de pr\u00eat du Fonds renouvelable, la demande de pr\u00eat de l\u2019\u00e9glise \u00ab\u00a0s\u2019est r\u00e9ellement pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e comme un espoir, une demande sp\u00e9ciale, en quelque sorte\u00a0\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

Puis en \u00e9changeant avec les directeurs du Fonds renouvelable d\u2019autres unions, il a dit avoir d\u00e9couvert que de nombreuses \u00e9glises vivaient la m\u00eame situation que Maranatha, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire qu\u2019elles grandissent rapidement et ont du mal \u00e0 acheter leur propre b\u00e2timent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Selon M.\u00a0Jackson, l\u2019Union des Grands Lacs a adopt\u00e9 une nouvelle politique con\u00e7ue pour surmonter les d\u00e9fis financiers que vivent les \u00e9glises comme Maranatha. Cette nouvelle politique s\u2019adresse pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 nos \u00e9glises de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s, d\u2019immigrants, de langue \u00e9trang\u00e8re qui tentent de s\u2019\u00e9tablir dans leur propre lieu de culte\u00a0\u00bb. Sous la nouvelle politique, les demandes de pr\u00eats du Fonds renouvelable des \u00e9glises comme Maranatha sont examin\u00e9es au cas par cas, et une aide du Fonds renouvelable peut \u00eatre accord\u00e9e \u00e0 de telles \u00e9glises \u00ab\u00a0beaucoup plus rapidement, sans la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019un vote sp\u00e9cial\u00a0\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n
