Dans ce centre des sentiments se trouve l\u2019amygdale, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire le syst\u00e8me c\u00e9r\u00e9bral des r\u00e9actions \u00e9motionnelles et de la m\u00e9moire.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La partie raisonnante du cerveau, que l\u2019on appelle le lobe frontal, est celle qui anticipe et qui interpr\u00e8te les situations, qui choisit les r\u00e9actions appropri\u00e9es et qui planifie les actions subs\u00e9quentes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les \u00e9pisodes d\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 peuvent commencer dans l\u2019une de ces deux parties du cerveau, mais o\u00f9 qu\u2019elles commencent, l\u2019autre partie s\u2019active et devient t\u00f4t ou tard impliqu\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Imaginez-vous \u00eatre en train de marcher et que, soudainement, vous vous appr\u00eatez \u00e0 mettre le pied sur quelque chose qui ressemble \u00e0 un serpent. \u00c0 ce moment-l\u00e0, le syst\u00e8me d\u2019alarme de l\u2019amygdale est sollicit\u00e9. Il reconna\u00eet un danger potentiel, d\u00e9clenche une r\u00e9action de stress et pr\u00e9pare le corps \u00e0 se battre, \u00e0 fuir ou \u00e0 geler. Dans la r\u00e9ponse combat-fuite, de l\u2019adr\u00e9naline et du cortisol sont s\u00e9cr\u00e9t\u00e9s. Les muscles se contractent, la respiration et le rythme cardiaque s\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e8rent, la tension art\u00e9rielle s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve, de l\u2019oxyg\u00e8ne et du glucose sont envoy\u00e9s vers les muscles, la capacit\u00e9 de concentration augmente, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019amygdale sauve des vies. Avant m\u00eame que vous ayez eu le temps de r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 ce que vous devez faire, votre corps a d\u00e9j\u00e0 saut\u00e9 loin de cette chose qui ressemble \u00e0 un serpent. Le cerveau des \u00e9motions prend le contr\u00f4le sans demander l\u2019approbation du cerveau de la raison.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le gel, d\u00e9clench\u00e9 par des r\u00e9actions corporelles oppos\u00e9es, est la r\u00e9action qui consiste \u00e0 faire le mort et qui est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par la s\u00e9cr\u00e9tion d\u2019ac\u00e9tylcholine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chez les gens qui souffrent d\u2019un trouble anxieux, l\u2019amygdale peut \u00eatre hypersensible et mal interpr\u00e9ter les stimuli ou r\u00e9agir de mani\u00e8re excessive, entra\u00eenant ainsi de fausses alertes et d\u2019intenses r\u00e9actions de peur qui ne sauvent pas la vie, mais qui la perturbent. L\u2019amygdale est alors activ\u00e9e par des stimulis visuels, des sons, des odeurs ou d\u2019autres sensations qui ne constituent pas de r\u00e9els dangers. Elle stimule le cerveau de la raison, lequel r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit plus lentement, l\u2019aidant \u00e0 interpr\u00e9ter et \u00e0 \u00e9valuer le danger, puis \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer s\u2019il faut poursuivre ou mettre un terme \u00e0 la r\u00e9action de stress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les \u00e9pisodes d\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 qui sont d\u00e9clench\u00e9s dans le cerveau de la raison sont diff\u00e9rents. Imaginez qu\u2019une personne est assise \u00e0 la maison et qu\u2019elle compte aller marcher. Elle imagine sa ballade de mani\u00e8re cr\u00e9ative, puis elle s\u2019imagine mettre le pied sur un serpent. Ce dernier va la mordre, puis elle va mourir seule sans quiconque pour l\u2019aider. M\u00eame si ce sc\u00e9nario ne fait que jouer dans sa t\u00eate, les pens\u00e9es inqui\u00e9tantes peuvent d\u00e9clencher l\u2019amygdale et causer un \u00e9pisode d\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 accompagn\u00e9 de sympt\u00f4mes \u00e9motionnels et physiques. \u00c0 la fin, elle pourrait d\u00e9cider de ne pas sortir marcher.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ces deux sc\u00e9narios illustrent un \u00e9pisode anxieux par le \u00ab\u00a0chemin du cerveau des \u00e9motions\u00a0\u00bb et un autre par le \u00ab\u00a0chemin du cerveau de la raison\u00a0\u00bb. Ces chemins anxieux sont form\u00e9s par des millions de cellules nerveuses qui communiquent entre elles par des substances chimiques qu\u2019on appelle \u00ab\u00a0neurotransmetteurs\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de milliards de connexions nerveuses qu\u2019on appelle \u00ab\u00a0synapses\u00a0\u00bb. Les neurotransmetteurs comprennent\u00a0:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La s\u00e9rotonine<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La noradr\u00e9naline<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La dopamine<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le GABA<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">D\u2019autres encore qui sont impliqu\u00e9s dans les r\u00e9actions anxieuses<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On dit que \u00ab\u00a0les cellules nerveuses qui s\u2019allument ensemble s\u2019allient\u00a0\u00bb.
