Le pr\u00e9sident du Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, a visit\u00e9 le campus principal de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Adventiste d\u2019Afrique (AUA) dimanche pour soutenir la construction d\u2019un nouveau Complexe de Sciences de la Sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n
Dans un discours pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e0 un auditoire de pr\u00e8s de 4000 personnes, le pr\u00e9sident Kenyatta a promis son soutien financier \u00e0 l\u2019initiative et a f\u00e9licit\u00e9 l\u2019Eglise Adventiste parce qu\u2019elle est un \u00ab partenaire exemplaire dans la transformation du Kenya. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab L\u2019Eglise Adventiste a jou\u00e9 une part vitale dans le redressement de nos communaut\u00e9s, dans l\u2019\u00e9quipement de nos citoyens et dans la construction de notre nation, \u00bb a dit Uhuru Kenyatta, faisant r\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux nombreuses \u00e9glises et \u00e9coles r\u00e9partis dans cette nation d\u2019Afrique de l\u2019Est.<\/p>\n
Le campus principal de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Adventiste d\u2019Afrique se trouve \u00e0 la Division de l\u2019Afrique du Centre-Est qui se situe \u00e0 Ongata Rongai, une r\u00e9gion des faubourgs de Nairobi.<\/p>\n
Bien que bas\u00e9e au Kenya, AUA est directement affili\u00e9e au si\u00e8ge mondial de l\u2019Eglise Adventiste et propose des programmes de troisi\u00e8me cycle dans toute l\u2019Afrique. Les programmes doctoraux sont enseign\u00e9s sur le campus principal et les autres programmes \u2013 tels que la th\u00e9ologie et le commerce \u2013 sont enseign\u00e9s sur d\u2019autres campus du continent avec un personnel enseignant tournant.<\/p>\n
Le pr\u00e9sident Kenyatta qui \u00e9tait accompagn\u00e9 du vice-pr\u00e9sident William Ruto et d\u2019autres responsables, a en outre mis en lumi\u00e8re l\u2019universit\u00e9 par rapport \u00e0 sa vision progressiste et au fait qu\u2019elle occupe un cr\u00e9neau en tant que seule universit\u00e9 du Kenya mettant l\u2019accent uniquement sur les \u00e9tudes post-troisi\u00e8me cycle. Il a \u00e9galement f\u00e9licit\u00e9 le syst\u00e8me \u00e9ducatif de l\u2019Eglise Adventiste pour son calibre et l\u2019ampleur de ses services \u00e9ducatifs.<\/p>\n
Uhuru Kenyatta a conclu ses remarques en remerciant l\u2019Eglise Adventiste parce qu\u2019elle d\u00e9montre de mani\u00e8re exemplaire ce que signifie \u00eatre un disciple, et ce qu\u2019est la compassion et la philanthropie.<\/p>\n

Blasious Ruguri, pr\u00e9sident de la Division de l\u2019Afrique du Centre Est a remerci\u00e9 le pr\u00e9sident de la nation d\u2019\u00eatre venu pour manifester son soutien pour le projet. Utilisant l\u2019histoire de J\u00e9sus demandant \u00e0 ses disciples de trouver et d\u00e9tacher deux \u00e2nons pour l\u2019entr\u00e9e triomphale \u00e0 J\u00e9rusalem, Blasious Ruguri a encourag\u00e9 l\u2019auditoire \u00e0 d\u00e9tacher leurs \u00e2nons, \u00bb c\u2019est \u00e0 dire \u00e0 lib\u00e9rer une partie de leurs fonds pour la mission.<\/p>\n
Le pr\u00e9sident Kenyatta a \u00e9t\u00e9 le premier \u00e0 faire un don en contribuant \u00e0 hauteur de plus de deux millions de shillings kenyans – soit pr\u00e8s de 22000 dollars US – pour le projet du B\u00e2timent des Sciences de la Sant\u00e9. Des centaines de responsables du gouvernement et de l\u2019\u00e9glise ont \u00e9galement fait des contributions pour le projet.<\/p>\n
Le philanthrope Sim\u00e9on Nyachae a \u00e9galement parl\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019auditoire. En introduisant le pr\u00e9sident il a f\u00e9licit\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9glise pour avoir sauv\u00e9 la vie de sa m\u00e8re ; en effet elle avait besoin d\u2019une intervention chirurgicale qu\u2019elle a subie en 1942 dans un h\u00f4pital Adventiste. Sim\u00e9on Nyachae a indiqu\u00e9 qu\u2019elle a v\u00e9cu 102 ans.<\/p>\n
