Dr. Jan Paulsen, world president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, has offered condolences on the death of former United States President Ronald Reagan.
“The Seventh-day Adventist Church’s worldwide family extends its sincere condolences to the family and others who mourn the death of President Ronald Reagan,” Dr. Paulsen said.
“We remember President Reagan as a man of optimism and dedication, who gave strong leadership to his nation and to the free world during a difficult era. He was a man who held freedom as a paramount value, and he expressed that value at every opportunity. President Reagan’s strong advocacy of religious freedom is a lasting legacy of his administration.
“Our thoughts are especially with President Reagan’s friends and family–his wife Nancy, and their children Michael, Ronald Jr., and Patti Davis. We pray that God will place His arms of comfort and healing around them during this difficult time,” he concluded.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church was founded in the United States and for many years had its world headquarters in Washington, D.C. The church’s administrative center is now located nearby, in Silver Spring, Maryland.
