Nearly 450 master guides and youth leaders participated in a master guide camporee in Sucre, Colombia, from June 30 to July 4. Young people, along with leaders representing the newly formed Colombian Caribbean Mission gathered in Los Campanos campground for the first camporee held there.

“This is a very important event in the life of our mission”, said pastor Diego Doria, president for the church in the Caribbean Colombian Mission. The meetings included reports and club presentations from 17 Master Guides Clubs from throughout the territory, as well sports activities and seminars on motivation and leadership.

Pastor Benigno Nova, youth director for the church in Colombia, was the guest speaker for the Friday evening and Sabbath morning worship. He challenged the young people to share God’s love to others, and to continue to be active in the youth ministry.

“We are proud to see our young people here, and we look at their faces, and see their Christian joy,” said Pastor Joel Doria, who is in charge of the work in the Montería region, who was present at the camporee. “It is amazing to see how this kind of events helps them grow in Grace”, he added.
