Ministers, laypersons and their spouses went on a special three-week tour to Turkey and Greece where the early Christians lived during the first century. Some 90 Inter-American travelers enjoyed visiting the seven churches mentioned in the Book of Revelation.

According to Pastor Israel Leito, president for the church in Inter-America, who was part of the delegation on this tour, the goal of the educational trip was to enhance the ministry of travelers and help them minister to God’s people in a more significant way.

“We want this trip to enrich our administrators, pastors and laypersons and be inspired by visiting these places that speak to us and make the Bible real,” said Leito.

With the theme, “Walking with Paul, Praying with John and Remaining in Christ,” the delegation of Inter-Americans was able, for the first time together, see first hand where early Christians survived a hostile environment.

The tour was led by Dr. Angel Manuel Rodirguez, director of the Biblical Research Institute of the General Conference, and by Dr. Efrain Velasquez, a recent graduate of Andrews University in Biblical Languages and professor at the Antillian Adventist University in Puerto Rico.
