FIRST WOMEN’S MINISTRIES CONGRESS IN CENTRAL AMERICA

1500 women packed the High School auditorium in Guatemala to attend the first Women’s Ministries Congress of the North Central American Union. They came from as far as Belize and the Mexican border traveling for two days to experience this historic occasion.

Facilitators of this event were the Union Women’s Ministries Director Kotty de Calderon hand her team of directors from the various fields. The theme they used was Unidas por su Gracia.(United by His Grace)

Here are some highlights. At the opening there was a flurry of excitement as the women cheered those who paraded in their typical costume carrying banners with the logo and name of their field. Then there was the music from the consecrated voice of Angie de la Mota from Santo Domingo. At the close of the sermon by Waveney Martinborough, Three Ways to Respond to God’s Grace, she thrilled our hearts with Con Su Gracia y Amor (With His Grace and Love) and all the women responded to the challenge to commit fully to God, and about fifteen persons came to the altar at the call for baptism. Reports are always heartwarming. The dedication and work of the women deeply touch the heart. To bring the curtains down portrayed by song and drama Many Hands, One Mission.

This first congress will always be remembered for its organization and inspiration. attended and they will say, Adelante Kotty (Go Forward)
