WOMEN’S MINISTRIES RETREAT GOES TO THE HINTERLAND

Director Vanessa Victorine and her team decided to take their annual Women’s Ministries retreat to the Pomeroon, a remote area in Guyana.

Guyana is known for its many large rivers that can be navigated only by boat. The trip from the Georgetown, the capital city to Muncker required travel fifteen minutes by boat, forty five minutes by road, another thirty minutes by speed boat, 30 minutes by road again. The final leg took about one hour by a slow boat.

In the Pomeroon, the highway is the river. So on Sabbath morning it was an interesting sight to see the people going to church in their Lexus, Honda, Toyota limo or Suv depending on the size of the boat and the speed of the engine. Regardless as to the mode of transportation we were all blessed by the training seminars and the sermon. We were happy to see eight young people respond to the call for baptism.

We look forward to the day when we will be able to visit from place to place without any limitation. “Even so, come Lord Jesus”
