Kingston, Jamaica…[Nigel Coke/IAD]

Andrews Memorial Hospital, owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the West Indies region, officially opened its new wing in its Kingston, Jamaica, facility on Sep. 27. During the inaugural ceremony, His Excellency, Governor General Sir Howard Cooke, officially declared the new wing (The Tai Wing) opened after a dedication and thanksgiving service held at the Andrews Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church nearby. Hospital and church administrators where present to renew their commitment to providing medical service to the community in its 61st year.

During the inaugural ceremony, Mr. Randy Haffner, senior vice president and chief operating officer at Florida Hospital, congratulated and gave an award to hospital and church administrators.

The new wing will house 11 doctors’ offices on the ground floor, 15 medical/surgical beds on the first floor and a 12-bed obstetrics unit on the second floor. The hospital also houses the only epilepsy center with Video EEG in the English-speaking Caribbean.

Andrews Memorial Hospital has been offering high quality medical service for the community since it opened in 1944.
