The Seventy-day Adventist Church in South Mexico recently honored the work of the its most outstanding literature evangelists. The celebration brought together 200 of the region’s top colporteurs to the annual congress in Morelos, Mexico, from Feb. 27 to Mar. 2.

Pastor David Javier, president of the church in South Mexico, reassured those in attendance that they are essential as leaders of God’s work.

“You are instruments which God has chosen to manifest to the world and do great things in the name of Jesus,” said Pastor Javier. He later shared how colporteurs take active part in fulfilling the mission of the church. “They [colporteurs] are very important…they help in evangelistic crusades, teach Bible studies, take active part in leader their local churches and win souls for Christ.”

Colporteurs at the event were able to attend various seminars on how to better sell books, learn about the new literature available, and be better vessels to share the message of Hope to everyone they encounter.

The top 200 colporteurs in attendance, representing one fourth the territory’s literature evangelists, were honored with an assortment of prizes including cash, appliances and book collections, among others. First prize went to four of the top colporteurs who sold the most literature during the past year. All four will receive an all-expense paid trip and join other colporteurs throughout the Inter-American Division territory on a special tour of the Waldenses Valley in Italy this coming May.

Pastor Howard Faigao, publishing secretary for the world church, invited the colporteurs present to join the more than 40,000 literature evangelists around the world to be instruments of great things and share Christian literature to save the souls who perish in sin.
