Miami, Florida…[Libna Stevens/IAD]
The Mid-Year Meetings of the Executive Committee for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America officially began its session with a special worship service on May 14 at the headquarter office in Miami, Florida. The program was streamed live over the internet.
Church officials from Inter-America’s 15 regions were treated to a 30-minute message by guest speaker, Pastor Lowell Cooper, vice president of the Adventist World Church located in Silver Spring, Maryland. His message was about the character of God.
Pastor Cooper drew his message from Nehemiah 9, emphasizing seven certainties of the Christian hope: (1) God is everlasting, (2) There is only one God, (3) God can do anything, (4) God is Holy, (5) God keeps His promises, (6) God is active in humanity, and (7) God is gracious and offers forgiveness.
Part of the worship service included a singing group called Emmanuel from the Dominican Republic, and a trio from Jamaica called Men of Valor.
The official commencement of the meetings took place as the mission and vision statements were read.
Webcasts of the mid-year meetings worship programs will follow through to May 16th, at 8:00 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
