For three consecutive years, thousands of young Seventh-day Adventists across Inter-America’s vast territory have been studying and competing for this year’s Youth Bible Bowl, which will focus on the Gospels.

Competitions in the local churches officially began in June and will continue through September until the grand finale, which will take place November 25 at Central American Adventist University in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

The Youth Bible Bowl is part of an initiative by the Youth Ministries department of the Inter-American Division headquarters to encourage Adventist young people to study God’s Word daily, says Pastor Bernardo Rodriguez, youth ministries director for the church in Inter-America.

“This year our emphasis is ‘Obsessed with the love of God’ so we thought what better than the four gospels where we can appreciate the love of God,” said Pastor Rodriguez.

Among the prizes to be given to the top three finalists will include a full scholarship to one of Inter- America’s universities, a laptop computer, and a collection of books.

Styled after the popular American game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”, the grand finale competition will bring 15 finalists from Inter-America’s 15 regions for a final match where candidates will answer questions through computer terminals in front of a panel of judges and a live audience.

Video of the event will be streamed live over the internet at www.interamerica.org
