Thousands of Seventh-day Adventist youth leaders from across Inter-America will descend upon Medellin, Colombia to participate in what organizers are calling a one-of-a-kind youth leadership and prayer convention. The event will gather nearly 5,000 Adventist youth for leadership training, community service, spiritual nourishment and fellowship.

Bringing hope to the more than 2.4 million inhabitants of Medellin is what organizers expect to happen during the four-day youth convention which begins July 24.

“We want the people in Medellin to see the love of Jesus through our young people as they occupy more than 40 hotels and do community projects in the city,” says Pastor Bernardo Rodriguez, Youth Ministries director for the church in Inter-America.

The event itinerary is packed with more than 38 training seminars, a Bible marathon, a 100-hour prayer marathon, more than 15 community service projects, a blood donation campaign and the Bible Bowl Finals, among other activities.

The kick-off program will start at 7:30 p.m. Miami time and will be broadcast live on the internet from Medellin's Centro de Convenciones. Internet webcasts will continue throughout the four days. In addition, Adventist television networks Esperanza TV, 3ABN Latino and ADvenir will broadcast the event's two-hour conclusion on Saturday, July 28, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Miami time.
