Soyalo, Chiapas, Mexico….[IAD Staff]

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in South Mexico is mourning the lost of three of its members who died tragically in an automobile accident late on Jan. 30, in Soyalo, Central Chiapas. Other church members were injured and still recovering.

Antonio Diaz Gonzalez, in his 50s, and his teenage daughter Aurelia Diaz as well another teenager Adan Perez Perez suffered fatal injuries after the vehicle crashed in a ditch. Apparently the driver lost control of the vehicle, which skided down a hill and flipped several times before landing in a ditch. The three victims, along with 20 others, some of them small children, were traveling back an evangelistic campaign held in Zapata to their hometown of San Gabriel. They were members of the San Gabriel Adventist Church.

“As a church in the South Mexican Union, we join together in mourning those who lost their family members,” said Raul Lozano, communication director for the church in South Mexico. “It is our prayer and hope that those other members who are still hospitalized can recover quickly from this terrible accident.”
