In less than 24 hours, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America will celebrate the end of a special evangelistic initiative with a live satellite program on Saturday, Mar. 15, 2008. The event, coined as “Pentecost and More”, will be broadcast through The Hope Channel, Esperanza TV, 3ABN, 3ABN Latino and Red Advenir, beginning at 10:30 a.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) from Kingston, Jamaica.
The initiative has mobilized thousands of church leaders and members into working towards sharing God's truths in their communities, through Bible study groups, tents, churches, and large centers.
“In every corner of Jamaica there are evangelistic series going on still right now,” says Pastor Balvin Braham, associate ministerial director for the church in Inter-America and main organizer of the event. “The same if you go to Mexico, as in the case of Haiti and the French Antilles…in Cuba. In all our church regions. The church has been mobilizing together to fulfill the mission and it will be a wonderful celebration of how the Lord has been blessing the church.”
The three-and-a-half-hour live program will include highlights from Inter-America's 15 regions, a spiritual message from Pastor Israel Leito, president of the church in Inter-America, large baptisms and an array of musical and spiritual presentations flavored with the Caribbean touch.
Already, the church in Jamaica has invested in television and radio ads to announce the event to be held in the National Arena in Kingston which holds close to 7,000 people. The church has also arranged for over 60 downlink sites for the broadcast.
Hundreds more downlink sites are set in churches across Inter-America, much like last year's first Pentecost and More satellite program which drew millions of viewers and accounted for over 48,000 baptisms throughout the territory in a single day.
