Seventh-day Adventist leaders from across the church in Inter-America met last night, May 16, for a special communion service and agape feast at its headquarter office in Miami, Florida. The program set the tone for the week of business meetings, which begin tomorrow.

During the two-hour service, which was streamed live over the internet, Pastor George W. Brown, former IAD president, spoke about the significance of Christ's sacrifice for His people, the assurance his salvation brings, and the hope that awaits us as Christians.

“Let us keep going forward, let us look back in frequent retrospection in what Christ has already done for us,” said Pastor Brown. “Let us look inwardly with confident introspection on what Christ is daily doing in us and with us and through us and for us by the Holy Spirit. Keep looking forward in glorious anticipation to that wonderful day to fulfil His promise to be with us in heaven.”

The program also included musical highlights by Men of Valor, a trio from the West Indies Union, who will perform throughout the weekend services.

The program continues this morning at 9 o'clock at IAD headquarters with church services for the gathered leadership. A special symposium will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. (Eastern Daylight's Time or Miami Time), when church leaders and members throughout the territory will be able to report on their respective regions via live video conferencing over the internet.

“This will be a unique symposium, never before done in our region,” says Pastor Israel Leito, president of the church in Inter-America. “Through the use of technology we will be able to link all of our [church] unions and learn what is taking place in their church territory.”
