The Executive Committee of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is scheduled to kick off its first meetings of the year in the coming days with special programs designed to strengthen the leadership and highlight the successes in the territory.

More than 100 committee members will participate in a consecration service May 16th at 7:15 p.m. (Eastern Daylight's Time) and Sabbath service May 17 at 9:00 a.m. at the Inter-American Division (IAD) headquarter office in Miami, Florida, prior to the church business meetings.

Pastor George W. Brown, former IAD president, will be the featured speaker during the worship programs.

All of Inter-America's 15 major church regions will be highlighted during the Sabbath afternoon symposium which will allow young people, laypeople, and ministers from each of the unions to ask questions of their union presidents through a live video conference broadcast, the first time this has been done.

“This will be a unique symposium, never before done in our region before,” says Pastor Israel Leito, president of the church in Inter-America. “Through the use of technology we will be able to link all of our [church] unions and learn what is taking place in their church territory.”

The live symposium will be broadcast over the internet beginning at 3:30 p.m. (EDT).

The church's business meetings will begin on Sunday, May 18, at 9:00 a.m. A program to celebrate the success of IAD's Publishing Association 25th years since its establishments will also be webcast, May 18, at 9:30 a.m.
