The Three Angels Broadcast Network (3ABN) will televise a special program on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009. The program will feature last October's Day of Kindness and Compassion event, as well as this year's repeat, which will take place Oct. 10.

The Day of Kindness and Compassion was a one-day initiative organized by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) which mobilized nearly one million church member volunteers to feed the needy across the territory. More than 800,000 people received a meal during the event.

During the 3ABN program, organizers of Inter-America's event will testify to the logistical challenges of last year's event, and the challenges they face as they prepare for this year's initiative.

Wally Amundson, ADRA director for the church in Inter-America, was delighted to have had the opportunity to share with the millions of viewers of the Adventist network on the impact this activity could have in church members' surrounding communities.

“We have all the elements at our disposal: faith, simple means, many volunteers, energetic youth and neighbors waiting for an act of kindness from someone willing to express the love of God through service to the community,” says Amundson.

“My hope is that when the viewers around the world see this report, they will be inspired to express their faith in action, and to do something similar this year in their communities wherever they live,” he adds.

The one-hour English program will air on 3ABN Today on February 15, 2009 at 1:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time).

The Spanish version of the program will air in 3ABN Latino on Feb. 28, 2009.
