Seventh-day Adventist Church leaders from around the world will gather to discuss financial adjustments, outreach strategies and other organizational issues during the 2009 Spring Meeting.
About 200 delegates and other attendants are expected to attend the meetings held April 5 and 6. Spring meeting, one of the church's annual business meetings, will be located in the world church headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States.
Delegates will hear reports compiled by the world church's departments, including presentations by Secretariat, Treasury and Global Mission.
Delegates will hear the findings from studies given to the church's publishing houses in North America. The study examined operating costs and benefits for the institutions. Also on the agenda is the presentation of a paper stating the Adventist approach to outreach, called the Roadmap for Mission.
Church delegates will also suggest policy changes that will be voted on at the church's year-end meetings in October.
The 2009 Spring Meeting was originally scheduled to be held at church-owned Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, United States, but was moved to church headquarters, as part of the overall cutbacks the world church has implemented to weather economic downturn.
