Hundreds of young people from throughout the Inter-American Division (IAD) territory are participating in the International Pathfinder Camporee in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, this week. Representing more than 800 of the 35,000 Pathfinders and guides attending the massive event, the IAD delegation is the second largest after North America. The camporee ends Saturday, Aug. 15.

“I am so happy to have such a large group of young people representing our Division,” said Pastor Bernardo Rodriguez, youth ministries director for the church Inter-America. “Even though our territory has many currency devaluations and limitations, they have all made an extraordinary effort to be here.”

This extraordinary effort is due largely to the supportive leadership, according to Pastor Rodriguez.

“With this many represented here it shows that pathfinder clubs are a priority in Inter-America and that church leaders and pastors believe in our youth and support them. You can see that Inter-America is a happy delegation here,” he added.

The IAD delegation in Oshkosh will be relatively small compared to the expected turnout at the first ever division-wide camporee planned for April of next year in Mexico City, Mexico.
