February 6, 2010 – Miami, Florida, United States…[Libna Stevens/IAD]
The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America is sponsoring the first ever Women in Leadership Conference in Miami, Florida, on Feb. 9-11. More than 200 women leaders at the union, conference, mission, and institutional levels are expected to attend.
Themed “Women in Leadership Making a Difference”, the conference is more than the meeting of the minds and sharing of the dreams of women, organizers say.
“Our main purpose for this conference is to motivate and to affirm the women leaders to enhance their service” says Gloria Trotman, women’s ministries director for the church in Inter-America. “We want the women of the Inter-American Division to move beyond our theme of making a difference into a pattern of godliness, godlikeness, the goal to be reached.”
The three-day conference opening session will feature Her Excellency, the Most Honorable Lady Allen of Jamaica, as the guest speaker. Other presentations will be given by speakers from the Adventist World Church and the Inter-American Division on topics such as leadership refueling, networking, and healthful living, among others.
The special opening program will begin at 7:15p.m. Eastern Standard Time (or Miami Time) and will be streamed live over the internet at https://recursing-golick.147-182-135-0.plesk.page/
