Opening day of the 59th General Conference Session saw thousands of Seventh-day Adventists pouring into the Georgia World Congress Center’s Exhibit Hall in Atlanta, Georgia. On display are dozens of exhibits belonging to Adventist organizations and institutions promoting its services, initiatives and programs.

At the Inter-American Division (IAD) exhibit, hundreds came to collect souvenirs, magazines, and free gifts.

South Mexico, with a membership of nearly 300,000, was represented in the IAD booth by a colorful staff ready to meet and greet onlookers.

“We have a delegation of 60 here at this session and we come representing five beautiful states and a great force of leaders and members in 3,230 congregations,” said Raul Lozano, communication director for the church in South Mexico.

“We are very colorful in Tabasco where I’m from,” said Linette Javier. “The environment here is so wonderful, to see so many people that believe the same, it’s just indescribable.”

North Colombia also displayed its straw hats and gave away things from vizors, fans, key chains, magnets and more.

Fernando Salazar, treasurer of the North Colombia Union, said it is exciting to represent a large group of committed Seventh-day Adventists.

“It’s a joy to come and visit this event,” he said. “It’s like a fair where we can all come and share together with our brothers and sisters around the world.”

Ivonne Urena who lives in Medellin, Colombia, being at the session is so exciting. “It’s great to see so many believers fellowship and feel that unity that brings us together as a church.”

Urena is among more than 144,000 Seventh-day Adventists worshipping in the 700 churches and congregations throughout the North Colombia region.
