Adventist schools across the English-speaking Caribbean territory took a day off from classes to participate in Inter-America’s territory-wide “Constant In Prayer” revival initiative on April 26.
Teachers, staff, students, parents and pastors gathered for a special program at St. Croix Seventh-day Adventist School to celebrate the event and participate in special prayer activities. It was just one of 40 schools where prayer was the main focus of the day.
Top church leaders from the Caribbean Union presented messages to young students on the importance of prayer and appealed to students to commit to God for a renewed life.
Students were able to tour seven prayer stations set up at the school. The stations were labeled Mt. Carmel, Lion’s Den, Shiloh, Bethel, Ebenezer, Succoth and Peniel. At each station, local pastors were waiting to share and pray with students.
“The program was well organized, and I was blessed to see the dedication and commitment of the staff and the involvement of the students in this spiritual experience,” said Pastor Leon Wellington, vice president of the Inter-American Division (IAD), who was present at the St. Croix school. “I left St. Croix with a great hope for the future of Adventist Christian Education.”
Hundreds of schools across the IAD territory also held special prayer programs throughout their schools and campuses.
“God continues to lead us in giving the spiritual and faith building experience to the next generation who will take our places in the future,” said Pastor Wellington.
