Inter-America’s eleventh annual Adventist Laymen’s and Services Industries (ASI) convention will bring hundreds of Adventist professionals together to the Sunset Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, on August 17-20, 2011.

The four-day event, themed “Messengers of Hope”, promises to inspire and recommit hundreds of ASI members to focus on spreading the gospel through their market ministries.

Hundreds of delegates are expected to gather and network, attend seminars on professional development and business management, strengthen on-going and new projects to benefit the community, and more.

This year’s convention marks the first of the new five-year period in Inter-America, and the second to be held in Jamaica since ASI’s establishment in the territory.

According to Pastor Leon B Wellington, vice president of the church in Inter-America and secretary of ASI-Inter-America, more than 30 exhibitions will be featured as well as cultural presentations. There will also be a special donation visit to St. Ann Bay’s General Hospital, and the election of a new ASI president, among other activities.

The convention’s opening program will be streamed live over the internet on August 17, 2011, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Jamaica Time or 7:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
