Hundreds of Seventh-day Adventist boys and girls took part in a special event which highlighted their talents during a program held in Medellin, Colombia, on Aug. 30.
The event gathered teachers, parents and church leaders to celebrate children from across several church districts of the metropolitan region of Medellin at Colombia’s Adventist University Auditorium.

With an increasing number of children growing up in the Adventist church, church leaders organized the program to help children develop a closer relationship with God, said Dina Ramos, children’s ministries director for the church in the West Central region in Colombia.

“Children are always willing to praise God,” said Ramos. “This brings me satisfaction to see that the children were happy to participate with their talents.”

Songs, poems, dramas and preaching were among the activities planned for the children. Themed “If Jesus is with us, we will lack nothing,” the children also recited the 23rd Psalm together.

Children were also guided through nine exhibit stations on campus to test their bible knowledge through recreational activities.

“The program was good,” said Camilo Rojas, a child preacher from the Bello-Kennedy district. “We need to be active in church so we can serve our God once we become adults.”

Children were awarded for their outstanding talents and teachers were recognized for their commitment to educating children.
