In less than 24 hours, some 30 church boards from across Seventh-day Adventist Churches in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, will gather to witness Inter-America’s special webcast on the comprehensive initiatives and activities for the Year of the Laity in 2013, at the Comayaguela Adventist Church.

Hundreds of top church leaders will join as the church’s executive committee opens its business meetings on Oct. 27, at 3:00 p.m. while thousands of church boards from across the 22 church regions in Inter-America connect and partner to continue to intensify their lay evangelism efforts in the coming months and year.

Board members will be able to view the live two-hour presentation of initiatives and activities to be voted by the executive committee, and discuss and adopt the activities right after the broadcast.

“This is an extraordinary feast we have been preparing for,” says Pastor Dennis Rodriguez, district pastor of Comayaguela Adventist Church in Tegucigalpa. “We have mobilized our pastors and members to connect online and participate in this incredible program tomorrow.”

Rodriguez is expecting his 700-seat church to fill to capacity before, during and after the program, he says. Preparing for the webcast has meant overseeing and coordinating a crew of dozens of workers to complete the remodeling of the 19-year old church, and in the last 12 days, it’s been 24-hours of non-stop work.

“We are delighted to be part of this program and to welcome our church leaders from Inter-America,” says Rodriguez. The church membership is anticipating a day of spiritual enrichment with Inter-American Division President Pastor Israel Leito for the morning worship service, a youth concert in the afternoon and the special webcast later in the day.

Jose David Reynaga, who is a church elder in the Cardenas Norte Adventist Church in Tegucigalpa, says that his church’s board has been informing its members of the upcoming webcast. “We are ready to participate in the blessings God has for us through His Church,” Reynaga says.

In addition, hundreds of church boards in neighboring Central American countries will gather to view the webcast in their temples and designated locations with an Internet connection.

Elsewhere throughout Inter-America, thousands of churches in Mexico, the Caribbean, West Indies, French Antilles and Colombia and Venezuela have been promoting the webcast through the radio and websites to tune in to the historic webcast.
