The Seventh-day Adventist church in Inter-America will hold its first territory-wide health summit this week in Orlando, Florida. The event will gather some 220 health professionals and health directors from Inter-America’s 22 church regions to participate in seminars and presentations to further inspire church and community members to seek a healthy lifestyle, organizers say.

“We have seen the need to awaken the health message that has been dormant in our churches for many years now,” says Belkis Archbold, Health director for the church in Inter-America and organizer of the event. “We want to remind all our health directors about the importance of leading and sharing a healthy lifestyle in their homes, churches, institutions and communities.”

The event will provide continuing education to health professionals focused on healing and serving as Jesus did when He was on earth, Archbold explains.

Seminars on Adventist health leadership, the church and the health message, cultivating wellness in churches, disarming diabetes, reducing risk behavior in youth, and more will be featured during the summit.
