The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America will connect with thousands of school teachers, principals and educators during a virtual council from its headquarters in Miami, Florida, on Nov. 16, 2013. The live event will be an opportunity to celebrate Adventist education, foster spiritual enrichment and professional development, and promote unity among the nearly 10,000 teachers in the 1,000 educational institutions throughout the Inter-American Division territory, organizers say.

More than 120 teachers, principals, and university educators will travel to participate and interact with top church leaders and educators during the five-hour program.

“This will be such an extraordinary event to gather all of our teachers and connect during devotional time,” says Dr. Gamaliel Florez, education director for the church in Inter-America and organizer of the event. “Our main focus will be on identity and mission where teachers can revive their commitment and service to God, train professionally as they educate pupils for eternity.”

Arrangements have already been made for every school and university site to gather teachers and professors to view the program and submit their questions during a special forum during the virtual council, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard time or Miami Time. The program will be streamed live in English, Spanish and French.
