Seventh-day Adventist business owners and professionals from across Inter-America will meet for this year’s Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries (ASi) Convention in Medellin, Colombia, August 17-20, 2016.

The 15th annual event themed “Connected, Empowered, and Transformed,” promises to inspire ASi chapter members and attendees to reaffirm their commitment of sharing Christ in their businesses and invite other professionals to join in support of the mission of the church.

More than 350 Adventist professionals will take part in seminars on professional development and business management during the four-day event. They will network together to strengthen projects to benefit the community further, as well as strategize to expand its regional chapters spread out throughout Inter-America.

This year, dozens of Adventist lawyers will take part in a forum to highlight, discuss and formulate solutions to contemporary issues and challenges affecting the Adventist Church, said Pastor Leon B. Wellington, IAD vice president and secretary of ASi Inter-America.

“We want to work all together to find avenues to make a positive difference in the church and the public arena,” said Wellington.

The two events will begin together and then break out in sessions, explained Wellington.

The convention’s opening program will be streamed live online on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Colombia Time (or 6:00pm to 8:00pm Miami Time) at esperanzacolombia.tv

In addition, the Sabbath, Aug. 20, Divine Service will be streamed from 11:15am to 12:45pm Colombia Time (or 12:15pm to 1:45pm Miami Time).

Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries, known as ASI, is an organization of Seventh-day Adventist lay people involved in professions, industry, education, and/or services and exists to challenge, nurture, and provide experience in sharing Christ in the marketplace as well as supporting the global mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
