Twenty-four finalists representing Inter-America’s church territories will compete one last time this year for the Bible Boom title on Dec. 10, 2016. The finalists will travel to the Dominican Republic to test their knowledge of the books of Joshua, Judges, Ruth, and Chapters 1-12 of Ellen G. White’s Patriarch’s and Prophets.

The event becomes the 13th annual territory-wide Bible bowl competition initiative that has engaged thousands of young people across thousands of churches to dive into assigned Bible books to strengthen their spiritual life, youth ministries leaders say.

“All our youth across our churches have been involved in the elimination process to come up with their finalists, so there’s a lot of excitement with out young people in Inter-America,” says Pastor Al Powell, youth ministries director.

“The Bible boom is fundamental for our youth to be grounded in the Word of God. And as they learn the Word of God, they will have a closer connection with Christ and be prepared to face their challenges here on this earth while making eternal decisions,” says Powell.

Finalists will answer 50-55 questions in the final competition, which will be held in the Polideportivo Arena in San Pedro de Macorís, from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
