Zarith Méndez of the North Colombia region took the top spot as the Bible Boom grand prize winner today during Inter-America’s territory-wide Bible competition held in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic.

Méndez with a score of 450 points, beat 20 other regional finalists in the 13th such annual event held across the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America. She answered 45 questions in 3:56 minutes.

María González of the East Venezuela trailed behind her with the same score and with a completion time of 4:33 minutes.

Hernan Pérez grabbed the third spot with a total score of 440 completed in 6:30 minutes.

All 21 finalists traveled to Dominican Republic to answer questions for a possible total score of 510 points on the books of Joshua, Judges, Ruth and the first 12 chapters of Ellen G. White’s Patriarchs and Prophets Book.
