Hundreds of board members from across Seventh-day Adventist unions, conferences, missions, and educational and health institutions in Inter-America will have the opportunity to take part in a special online training on Wednesday, Sep. 14, 2017. Inter-American Division (IAD) top church leaders will conduct the orientation event from the headquarter office stationed in Miami, Florida, United States.
The six-hour sessions are intended to equip members of governing boards and committees to fulfill their responsibilities respectively, said Pastor Balvin Braham, assistant the IAD president in charge of leadership development for the church in Inter-America.
“We want these board members to be able to support administration in fulfilling the mission, understand their roles in the process of decision-making in order to assist them in understanding the principles of the governing policies of the organization,” said Braham.
Holding such online leadership training for board members from the IAD’s 24 unions, 150 local fields and dozens of institutions will be more cost-effective and productive than gathering them in Miami for one day, explained Braham.
The training is part of the IAD’s ongoing Segment Leadership Development (SeLD) Conference series and will feature presentations on appeal processes and ad hoc committees, membership, agenda and communicating actions, accountability of members, audited statements, and more.
Several Q&A segments are scheduled into the online program. Participants can submit their questions during the online training program by emailing to seld@interamerica.org
To watch the online SeLD Training Session on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2017, tune in from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m Miami Time, at webcast.interamerica.org
