The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America will hold its annual online certification program for thousands of its pastors across the territory on Oct. 23, 2019. The two-and-a-half-hour live program is part of a comprehensive certification program to better equip pastors as they shepherd the fast growing church memberships throughout the Inter-American Division (IAD).

“This month as we celebrate pastor appreciation month, it’s good that we take some time to provide part of annual certification hours to highlight the on-going discipleship work that must take place in our local churches,” said Pastor Josney Rodríguez, ministerial association secretary for the church in Inter-America.

It’s about moving stronger together as a body of more than 3,200 pastors who lead in more than 22,000 churches and congregations in the territory, said Rodríguez.

Part of the comprehensive strategy of the department is to train its pastors and church elders to help shepherd the nearly 4 million members more efficiently, said Rodríguez. Already, nearly 30,000 church elders have been undergoing a certification program since 2017.

This online training for pastors follows up to 20 hours of training held regionally in each country and territory, added Rodríguez.

Speakers during the online event will include IAD top administrators and departmental directors on topics such as pastoral leadership, the use of Software Logos, stewardship, available resources and more. In addition, the program will recognize outstanding pastors from each union who have exceeded in their district.

To watch the live program in English, Spanish and French on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, from 10:00am to 12:30pm Miami Time, visit webcast.interamerica.org
