Véronica Solis of the Chiapas Mexican Union is the top winner of this year’s Inter-America’s territory-wide Bible Connection competition held in Willemstad, Curacao, today. This is the second year in a row that a finalist from the Chiapas Mexican Union wins the top spot.

Solis with a score of 955 total points, beat 23 other regional finalists in the 16th annual event held across the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America. She answered all questions in a time of 14:28. Solis earned a four-year scholarship to Navojoa Adventist University in Mexico.

Moisés Puerta of the Panama Union trailed behind her with a score of 950 and with a completion time of 9:54. Puerta will receive a four-year scholarship for the South Caribbean University in Trinidad & Tobago. It is the second year in a row that Puerta wins the second place spot for his union in IAD’s final competition.

Codio Marckenson of the Haitian Union grabbed the third spot with a total score of 950 completed in 13:37. Marckenson will receive a scholarship to Montemorelos University, in North Mexico.

The three top winners will also receive an iPad.

All 24 finalists participating this year traveled to Curacao to answer more than 70 questions on the books of Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther.
