Seventh-day Adventists throughout Inter-America will soon embark on a special 100-day journey of prayer from Feb. 1 to May 11, 2022. The territory-wide initiative is an important part of a year where the Inter-American Division is holding centennial celebrations throughout the year to commemorate the official organization of the Division in 1922.

Following the centennial theme of “Celebrating His Providence and Affirming our Values,” the 100 days of prayer seeks to create a spiritual environment that reaffirms the importance of intercessory prayer and can lead to lead to greater growth in evangelism, education and service to the community, church leaders said.

“What we are celebrating in Inter-America is the marvelous providence of God in our lives over these past 100 years,” said Pastor Samuel Telemaque, Sabbath School ministries director and main organizer of the prayer initiative. “God has been leading and guiding this church for so long and because of His goodness, we have chosen to respond to God through the ministry of intercessory prayer where we lay hold upon Him.”

This prayer journey is about expressing implicit confidence in God’s guidance for the next 100 years and beyond, said Telemaque.

“Prayer is the only avenue that gives us access to the Holy Spirit, Jesus and the Father, allowing us to interact with divine power so that God can release His power in our lives and our situations,” he said. “We urge families, churches, conferences, and unions to participate in this movement of intercessory prayer throughout the Inter-America.”

Each day includes a spiritual reflection of bible-based promises and motives for prayer carefully drafted by a special committee made up of prayer coordinators across the IAD. The prayer emphasis journey document is available in English, Spanish and French.
