Hello, Happy Sabbath.
Today I brought my pathfinder scarf, in keeping with the Inter-American Camporee which begins this Tuesday, in Trelawny, Jamaica.
Thousands of Pathfinders from all over Inter-America and other parts of the world will travel to fellowship, participate in sports, special events, and of course spiritual activities that will focus on the life of Gideon, a man called by God to lead the people of Israel, in a time of attacks, devastation and destruction.
Perhaps no other leader would have considered this man who was threshing wheat. He himself had his concerns and questions, but God called him and he became a brave warrior, who achieved a great victory thanks to the power and wisdom of God.
The Inter-American Division chose the theme, “Pathfinders in Mission,” with the purpose of inspiring campers to look beyond their personal limitations and trust in God’s guidance and power in their own lives.
In Judges chapter 6, where the story of Gideon is recorded in verse 12, we are all encouraged, “The Lord is with you, mighty warriors.” (Judges 6:12).
I invite all of you to join us in praying for those pathfinders and their leaders who will be traveling to Jamaica. We pray for the parents and their churches that have had the vision to invest in them, but also, I invite you to reflect on the story of Gideon, so that with that same courage and determination, we can all face the challenges with confidence and continue to grow in faith.
Maranatha!
