Hello Brothers and Sisters in Inter-America,
What a joy to greet you on this first Sabbath in March, where in much of Inter-America, spring begins. This is a season of renewal and change after the lethargy of winter.
I find it very fitting to apply this as a metaphor for today, which has been designated as a special day of prayer for women ministries under the theme “Ignite Your Prayer Life.” This statement suggests a change, an awakening, a beginning towards greater awareness, understanding and connection with God.
Although this is an initiative of women ministries, it is an invitation that applies not only to ladies, but to all church members.
Ellen White says that “When God’s people pray earnestly, sincerely, individually, and collectively… great things will happen in and among God’s people.” (Or. 06 4.1).
Igniting our prayer life means getting closer to God and involves reflecting God’s light among those around us. What a wonderful opportunity to join this initiative of the Adventist family and let your light shine before men, “that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16).
Let’s ignite our prayer life and reflect God’s light to everyone around us.
Maranatha!
