Hello Brothers and Sisters, Happy Sabbath.
Today, I take a brief pause in the middle of different meetings in which we are engaged, to greet you. These meetings are part of the organizational practice in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, but above all, they are opportunities to reaffirm our unity, our mission, and our commitment to preaching the Gospel. I’m referring to the mid-year meetings.
In each of these meetings, whether online or in person, reports are presented, significant matters discussed and important decisions are made for the future of our church and its institutions.
And I share this with all of you, because although it seems that only board members participate, all members of the church can get involved by praying for the intervention of the Holy Spirit, thus strengthening our unity as the body of Christ.
In the Bible we read how the early church was organized and united, and we can see how they rejoiced and praised God.
In Acts 2:46-47 Paul the evangelist recounts: “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts….They ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Let us all share in that same spirit of unity, hope and praise during this planning period and every day.
Maranatha!
