The 2025 focus is on missing child prevention and recovery protocols.

Adventist Risk Management, Inc. (ARM), has launched training and promotional materials in support of its annual Safety Sabbath initiative, held March 29.
The focus of this year’s Safety Sabbath is on missing child prevention and recovery protocols for churches. While places of worship are often considered safe spaces, the state of the world today paints a different picture. ARM’s Safety Sabbath program helps congregations gain the tools and education necessary to conduct safety drills successfully, beef up communication with church members and community officials, and have a strong chain of command in place. According to ARM president James Winegardner: “Awareness is the foundation of risk management. Safety Sabbath is an opportunity to raise awareness for people who might otherwise never think about the risks incurred in ministry.”
While March 29 is the target date for churches to participate, they are welcome to conduct their Safety Sabbath program on a subsequent Sabbath as needed.
A tool kit is available at www.safetysabbath.org, and includes a short training webinar, registration form, checklists, and communication pieces that churches can use for their congregants and community members.
