The North Ecuador Mission (MEN) became the meeting ground for key Adventist media leaders as representatives from Adventist World Radio (AWR), Hope Channel Inter-America, and Nuevo Tiempo Ecuador gathered to plan upcoming evangelistic initiatives uniting the South American and Inter-American divisions.

Held from October 15 to 19, the planning session brought together Pastor Eduardo Canales, director of AWR;  Abel Márquez, communication director of the Inter-American Division and executive director of Hope Channel Inter-America; Miqueas Fortunato, marketing director of Hope Channel Inter-America; and Pastor Tomás Parra, director of Radio Nuevo Tiempo South America.

During the visit, local leaders and district pastors met with Pastor Manuel Melo, president of the North Ecuador Mission, and Pastor Ricardo Peñafiel, director of Nuevo Tiempo Ecuador, to coordinate the planning of a major national evangelistic campaign to be held across Ecuador during Holy Week, March 27 to April 5, 2026. The initiative will mobilize pastors, media teams, and lay preachers to reach communities throughout the country with the message of hope.

The meetings centered on developing joint strategies for communication and evangelism that will involve local churches, media ministries, and digital platforms, all working together to reach more people with the message of hope across northern Ecuador.

As part of the initiative, 60 media professionals from the Inter-American Division will serve as guest speakers during the evangelistic campaign in Quito, Ecuador. Later, in September, another group of 60 media personnel from the South American Division territory will participate as guest preachers in dozens of evangelistic meetings in Bucaramanga, Colombia, continuing the exchange program between the two divisions.

Márquez explained that the initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen collaboration and growth among Adventist media networks.

“This will be the fifth evangelism experience we have organized together with AWR in Inter-America, and each time we’ve seen a twofold purpose fulfilled, strengthening the skills and tools of our media teams, while also inspiring them to step out of their studios and experience evangelism firsthand, face to face with people,” said Márquez.

He added that the South American Division has a strong track record in radio and television, while Inter-America brings diversity and creativity to the partnership. “I’m convinced that this collaboration will strengthen both territories and open new avenues for practical cooperation between our media networks. When we share experiences, we also share vision, and that drives us to grow together in serving the mission.”

The planning session reaffirmed the commitment of Adventist media ministries to collaborate in evangelism and to use every available platform—churches, radio, television, and digital media—to share the message of hope, local leaders said.

In addition to the planning meetings, visiting leaders preached in several churches across Quito, including La Magdalena, La Carolina, El Inca, and La Palma, helping to strengthen spiritual unity and rekindle the missionary spirit among members.

Looking ahead to Easter Week 2026, leaders expressed confidence that this initiative will represent a new milestone in collaborative evangelism, following the successful examples of Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, and Uruguay, where similar projects have shown that when media ministries and church institutions unite, the gospel reaches farther and transforms more lives.
