The Inter-American Division (IAD) of Seventh-day Adventists will host a special week of spiritual emphasis from October 18 to 25, focusing on the prophetic writings of Ellen G. White, one of the church’s founders whose counsel continues to inspire and guide believers today.

Under the theme “Messages of Hope for the End Times,” the week will feature nightly presentations by experts from Ellen G. White Research Centers at IAD universities. The series will highlight how White’s messages remain vital to faith, mission, and the spiritual life of the church in today’s rapidly changing world.

Now in its second year, the initiative will again offer daily evening broadcasts, inviting pastors, educators, and members across Inter-America to reflect on the prophetic voice that has shaped Adventist belief and identity for generations.

“The special week is intended to provide insight to the church membership with a fundamental belief which is found in the Spirit of Prophecy writings,” said Pastor Isaías Espinoza, publishing ministries director for the IAD, who oversees Spirit of Prophecy initiatives across the region. “We want to build more trust in the writings of Ellen G. White among local church leaders and pastors as well as active church members.”

Espinoza explained that the initiative’s goal extends beyond inspiration to accessibility. “It is important to have more resources and tools available so leaders can address questions that may come up and may be difficult to answer without further access to information,” he said. He added that the IAD continues to expand its network of Spirit of Prophecy centers and publishing ministries to equip leaders with training and study materials year-round.

The General Conference, through the Ellen G. White Estate, supports this global emphasis each October with a special Sabbath program designed to encourage study and reflection. This year’s Spirit of Prophecy Emphasis Day falls on October 18, bringing together churches worldwide to celebrate and promote the prophetic ministry that continues to strengthen the Adventist movement.

Kicking off the special week, the IAD is preparing to host a Spirit of Prophecy Symposium, set for October 17–18, 2025, at Central American Adventist University in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The event will gather researchers, educators, and administrators to explore how the prophetic gift continues to inform spiritual life, education, and mission throughout the region.

Through this annual week of reflection, the IAD seeks to renew appreciation for Ellen G. White’s writings—not as relics of the past, but as living messages of hope and counsel for a church preparing for the soon return of Christ, Espinoza said.

Church leaders and members across the Inter-American Division are invited to tune in nightly during October 18–25 via webcast.interamerica.org. Programs will air at 7:00 p.m. (Miami time) in English and French, and 9:00 p.m. (Miami time) for Spanish-speaking audiences.
