Seventh-day Adventist families across the Inter-American Division (IAD) are invited to participate in Christian Home and Marriage Week, scheduled for February 14–21, 2026, with a focus on strengthening spiritual life at home and renewing family commitment throughout the territory.
Throughout the week, sermons, seminars, and devotional resources will be provided for families and local congregations to use during evening worship gatherings, encouraging homes to intentionally reconnect with God and with one another. Leaders say the emphasis is centered on the theme “Celebrate Creation: Marriage, Family, and the Sabbath,” which invites every church family to unite in faith and joy.
Pastor Álvaro Niño, family ministries director of the IAD, explained that the evening messages—organized around the subtheme “Recover & Add” for weeknights—are rooted in the biblical account of David in 1 Samuel 30, a story of crisis, renewal, and restoration.

Restoring What Matters Most
The special week, organizers say, is a call to restore what may have weakened in family life and intentionally add practices that promote spiritual growth.
Niño emphasized that the home is the first mission field entrusted to believers, making intentional family worship essential.
“When families strengthen their spiritual foundation, they become living testimonies of God’s renewing power,” he said. “This week is about creating space for God to restore, strengthen, and guide family life.”
Encouragement for Families
Sandra Pinto, women’s ministries director, who partners with husband Niño in family ministries leadership, underscored the importance of addressing the quiet struggles many households face today.
“Many homes experience silent losses such as lack of time, communication challenges, and emotional fatigue,” Pinto said. “Yet the story of David shows us that even in our darkest moments, God can renew hope, heal relationships, and restore joy in the home.”
Organizers hope the week will serve not only as a special spiritual emphasis, but also as a catalyst for long-term growth. Families are encouraged to establish regular worship moments and intentional gatherings that continue beyond the week of prayer.
Resources for Continued Growth
“Our desire is for families to recover what is essential and add what strengthens their faith,” Pinto added. “When God occupies the center of the home, the family becomes a source of blessing to everyone around it.”
Resources for the Week of Prayer—including sermons and family worship materials—have been prepared by the General Conference and Inter-American Division Family Ministries departments and are available HERE, where churches and households can download guides for each evening’s emphasis.
Division leaders invite families to view the week as an opportunity to recommit to spiritual priorities, cultivate healing, and strengthen relationships grounded in Christ.
