The Northern Caribbean University (NCU) administration extends congratulations to graduates Paris Barrett Powell and Andrea Chisholm on being awarded Chevening Scholarships for 2020-2021.

Andrea graduated from NCU in 2007 with a BA in Mass Communications minoring in Law and Political Science with honors. She will be pursuing an MSc in Media & Communication Governance at the London School of Economics and Political Science. The Senior Reporter/Producer and News Anchor at Television Jamaica is a multi-award-winning Journalist. Her awards include the Press of Association of Jamaica’s (PAJ) Journalist of the Year award for 2017 and 2018 and the Caribbean Broadcasting Union Award for Best Investigative Report (2017 and 2018).
According to the British High Commission, the Chevening Scholarship offers a unique opportunity for future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers from all over the world to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.
This year’s batch of Chevening Scholars will increase the Jamaican alumni to over 250 since 1984, many of whom are leaders and trailblazers across the Jamaican society, the British High Commission pointed out.
