Hello, Happy Sabbath.
Today as I greet you, I am very happy to participate in the Women’s Ministry Day of Prayer with my wife Ketlie. Hi Ketlie
KETLIE: Hello, and Happy Sabbath. I’m glad to greet you too. Today we want to remember a woman who is recognized in the Bible as a woman of faith. I am referring to Sarah, Abraham’s wife.
When we read her story in Genesis, we can imagine from her perspective all that she experienced as a migrant, traveling with her husband from one place to another, going through trials, threats, experiencing uncertainty… And when she was advanced in age, at what seemed like the end of her days, God made her laugh when He told her that she would have a baby.
PASTOR HENRY: In the Epistle to the Hebrews, chapter 11 and verse 11, the Apostle Paul refers to her as follows:
“Through faith also Sarah herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.”
Ketlie, brothers and sisters, You know our story is not very different from Sarah’s: Considering that we are also migrants in this world, living in uncertainty, surrounded by so many problems in the final stage of earth’s history.
But perhaps, God wants to make us laugh too, ensuring that His promises will be fulfilled in us.
Today, women unite in prayer, but as a family of faith we also join with them. The theme Women’s Ministry has chosen for today is “Praying in the Last Days.” I invite you to join by thanking God for His faithfulness and asking Him to strengthen our faith and give us courage and joy. We long to meet Him face to face very soon.
God bless you all.
