Colombia: Amazing Facts Bible Series To Be Broadcast Live

Evangelist Doug Batchelor and Amazing Facts will present an evangelistic series in Medellin, Colombia starting on July 14th. The eight-day series, called Hidden Truth: Amazing Bible Facts Revealed! (¡La Verdad Escondida: Hechos Asombrosos que la Biblia Revela!), is scheduled to be transmitted live from El Coliseo del Colegio de San Jose through the Adventist networks 3ABN Latino, Esperanza TV and Red ADvenir International every evening from 7:30p.m. to 9:00p.m. Colombia time (8:30p.m. to 10:00p.m. Eastern Daylight’s Time or Miami time).

It’s an evangelistic series that promises to offer hope and new life in Jesus Christ to a country torn by violence and drug trade, organizers say. Some 50 congregations have joined together with pre-work Bible studies and a 400-youth movement has been leading months of efforts to generate interest and excitement in the event.

“One of the greatest benefits of this outreach is the opportunity to raise up a new generation of Christian leaders,” says Pastor Batchelor. “During the evangelistic series, the youth-led small groups will continue to meet each day. They will spend time in the barrios witnessing and sharing their faith with others. They have set a goal of one baptism from each group. That would represent 400 new believers in Medellin alone!” Batchelor adds.

More than 4,000 people are expected to attend the series every evening and nearly 1,000 downlink sites in 37 countries will view the series.

The Inter-American Division has partnered with a production company in Medellin to help cover the programs with the use of four cameras, according to Jose Romero, associate communication director for the church in Inter-America and producer of the broadcast series.
