Even though the miles separate them, a single purpose unites them.

Thousands of Seventh-day Adventists from different countries and cultures around the world have congregated at the 59th General Conference Session in Atlanta, Georgia, joined by a unique bond: their faith in Christ and the desire to continue the work of salvation.

Kwon Young Sook and Chun Eun Kyung belong to the Adventist Church in Korea. They came to seek out young people from other parts of the world and connect.

They said pastors and missionary groups from their division are being sent to organize churches in other countries like Japan, China, Mongolia and Taiwan, among others.

“We know that (Inter-America) has been one of the divisions that has shown rapid growth and that makes us very happy,” they expressed. “They are doing a good job and we are proud they are our brothers and sisters.”

Daniel Cane Alkan, age 15, is from the Smyrna Adventist Church in Turkey. He works with his father Kemal Alkan doing evangelism projects and organizing tourist groups to biblical places such as Greece, Israel, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon.

“We have been working with our families so that more people can know the joy of living a Christian life,” they said. “We know that everyone in your countries have made the same efforts.”

“We invite you to find out about our projects and invite them to our country,” Alkan said. “We wish you strength to continue the work that has been entrusted to us.”
