Hundreds of Adventist schools and universities across the Inter-American Division (IAD) territory will focus on spiritual revival on Apr. 26. The special day is part of the IAD’s Constant in Prayer initiative which seeks to inspire a spiritual revival through constant prayer and study of the Bible.
Dedicating time to prayer symbolizes “the high importance we are emphasizing on prayer and the main objective of an Adventist education: to establish a closer communion with God,” said Dr. Gamaliel Florez, education director for the church in Inter-America.
Students and teachers will spend time reflecting on the benefits of prayer, the importance of gratitude and praise in worship and pray together throughout the day.
Earlier, on Apr. 6, hundreds of schools and universities across Mexico, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos and the Cayman Islands celebrated their special day of prayer revival. Hundreds more in Central America, the Caribbean and the rest of the IAD territory will feature prayer sessions, music and more throughout classrooms and campuses.
A special live program from the Central American Adventist University in Alajuela, Costa Rica, will feature Pastor Israel Leito, president of the IAD, with a spiritual message. Music and special prayer activities will also be featured. The program is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight’s Time (or 10:30 a.m. Costa Rica Time)
